Small Groups

Picture
Small groups are an essential part of the life of our parish. Meeting regularly with about a dozen or so others parishioners for prayer, study, and support enriches, develops and fosters our deeper relationship with God.

Around 60% of our members attend Small Groups within the parish and, apart from our weekly worship services and occasional events and courses, these constitute our main program for adults. Small Groups meet in private homes, or using the church hall, under a designated group leader. To support the small group leadership community, group leaders from across the parish also meet together regularly to exchange ideas and sharpen their skills.

Our Small Groups have five functions - nurture, fellowship, prayer, service and outreach. Some meet weekly, some fortnightly - some during term time only, and others throughout the year. Our intention is to keep our Small Groups growing in number, so we also run a Small Group Leaders Course to prepare, train and encourage our prospective leaders.
