I would also like to thank the office volunteers who have done such a wonderful job assisting me so well. We are indeed blessed to have willing helpers in this area of our parish life.
You will be pleased to know that we have 9 people who have recently started the “Christianity Explored” course that I am leading every Saturday morning. Please pray for all concerned and give thanks to God for graciously blessing us with this opportunity to share the gospel.
Sea Sunday, the international day of prayer for seafarers, is celebrated this year on next Sunday 12 July. Seafarers work and live in certain isolation and often dangerous and harsh conditions. As an island nation Australia relies on seafarers and seafarers rely on the Mission to Seafarers for the provision of on-shore facilities and support services that contribute to their wellbeing. The Mission to Seafarers is the world’s leading maritime welfare charity providing professional support services and ship visiting to seafarers, mariners and sailors of all faiths or none, as part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. To make a donation please use the brochure available in the narthex or visit the website: missiontoseafarers.com.au
Prayer: Lord God, Creator of land and sea, bless those who work at sea. Be with them in fair weather and storms, in danger and distress. Strengthen them when weary, lift them up when down and comfort them when lonely and far from their loved ones. Bring them safely to shore Lord God and bless those who are there to welcome them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your Brother in Christ, Mike Simpson, Locum Vicar
