Our Vicar, Shane and his wife Janet, return from Long Service Leave tomorrow! After 14 weeks as the Locum Vicar I will be pleased to hand back the reigns to Shane and continue as Associate Priest of the Parish.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and encouragement during this time. You generosity of Spirit has really come to the fore and I have been so blessed to your Locum.
I particularly want to thank the clergy who have given freely of their time to lead worship. Sue Brooks, Gary Gason, Mark Sweeney and John Leaver have contributed greatly to our Parish life and on your behalf I want to say to them, well done and thank you.
I also want to thank Sam White, Libby Paterson, the Wardens and Parish Council and the office volunteers for making sure that all ran smoothly during Shane’s absence. And again to every one of you who contributes to our faith community and have assisted me in so many ways, a heartfelt thank you. Well done!
I could not have coped with the extra workload without the support of my wonderful wife Sally. She has done so well helping me in so many ways and I want to express my appreciation for all that she has done. Thank you Sally.
I pray that this Parish may grow and be a beacon of light to a dark world that needs more than ever the knowledge that Jesus Christ is the way, and the truth and the life and that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Your Brother in Christ, Mike Simpson, Locum Vicar.
