Today is our thanksgiving combined service where we offer back to God from out of God’s rich blessings to us – our offering commitment for the coming year – our offering of time, money and ability to the work of God’s church here in Mt Eliza.
There is much to be thankful for in our church – both as individuals and as the Body of Christ. The sermon today picks up Paul’s wonderful passage to the Corinthians in chapter thirteen where he mentions three abiding facets of Christian life: faith; hope; and love. We are indeed thankful for the faith given us by God’s Spirit in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are indeed thankful that because of that faith we can live not as people afraid of the world around us but as people of hope; and finally, we can because of God’s Spirit of love in us and for us – live as people of love – loving others and serving them before all else. May God’s Spirit bless us all as we endeavour to become more and more, each and every day, people of faith, hope, and love.
