It has been a sad time in the life of our parish over the last week. Not only with the Paris terrorist attacks of Friday week ago, we have also had the deaths of two beloved members of our parish community. Neville Maple, a long-time member of the chapel congregation was a faithful and loving gentle soul who acted as Cantor for the chapel choir for many years and who will be sorely missed. His funeral was held yesterday at the chapel. Richard Congreve, who had been battling cancer for a while also died in the past week. Richard was for many years a church warden and parish council member and faithful member of the 9am congregation. He was heavily involved in the Cursillo movement and had a deep passion for growing the church and kingdom of God. His funeral will be held tomorrow, Monday 23 November, in the Main church starting at 2.30pm. He, like Neville, will be sorely missed and we pray that God may comfort all who grieve at this time. There will also be a special service on Sunday 29 November at 7.45am in the historic church as we remember Chester Fox, whose ashes will be interred on Monday 30 November.
A reminder that our annual meeting is today in the main church at 12.30pm. Also, our first FETE meeting for the 2016 Fete will be held on this Thursday 26 November beginning at 7.30pm in the small hall. All are welcome to attend.
