Youth Alpha @ Mount Eliza Anglican Church - starting Monday 22nd April, 2024
Mondays over 10 weeks (22/4 to 24/6)
5:45-7:00pm includes dinner
What is Alpha?
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions and share their point of view, no matter how old you are! Alpha is a series of interactive sessions designed to engage people in conversations about life, faith and Jesus. Alpha is run all around the globe and everyone is welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it! No two Alphas look the same, but they generally have three key things in common: food, a talk or video, and good chat.
This year we’re running an Alpha course specifically designed for young people!
What does it look like?
Fun!
All sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships. We’ll play table tennis, hang out and get to know each other over dinner. Come with a friend or family member, or on your own - all our staff and volunteers are Child Safe trained.* Our new Generations Minister, Amy, will be running the sessions.
Watch
We’ll watch a video that includes stories and chats with Aussie young people and helps us think life and faith.
Chat
We’ll have a chance to share ideas, ask questions and say exactly what you think without judgment, in a safe, fun, open space as we wrestle with some big life questions (Is this it?) and open up faith questions (who is Jesus anyway?). We welcome everyone, no matter what background you’re coming from. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t share (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Where will we meet?
We’ll be set up in one of the halls attached to the office building - so when you arrive, come to the office door, not the church itself.
105 Koetong Parade, Mt Eliza.
What if I have more questions?
Contact Amy Brown, our new Generations Minister by filling out the form below.
If you are signing up and have dietary requirements, please include those in the comments :)
*If you’re under 18, please come and be picked up by a parent / caregiver to sign you in /out.
